This thread ties in to the "Be Yourself" That was hear recently. When it comes to both dating and relationships in general, do you believe that their are some people out there with absolutely no redeemable qualities? Do you believe there's good in everyone or that some people are just flat out worthless?
This ties in with the other thread...sociopaths have no real redeeming qualities. Otherwise, people are on a spectrum. Some people have very little going for them, some a lot. I guess somewhere near the bottom of the spectrum you might find people with few to any redeeming qualities, although there is always the capability of more in everyone.
I've encountered a few people who were flat-out worthless. Not necessarily evil, just worthless and incapable of love or even being a positive force in the world. But it's a very small number compared to the wider population.
I think "Be yourself" is just sound advice. Either you are accepted as you are or your personality provokes such disapproval that you are given plenty of signs that you need to change. What you do with that information is your choice, but if you're happy as you are, at least by being yourself you warn off the rest of us.
Was that even coherent? I'm kind of tired right now, but I've got a headache and I"m waiting for the tylenol PM to kick in... :P
I've met some rectums and I've met some wonderful people. There have been some that I've thought should be surgically removed from society. A lot of it boils down to chemistry. Even a serial killer can attract a mate.
I would say that there is a very miniscule percentage of people who have no redeemable qualities and that would include the vile scumbags mentioned earlier.
