I'm talking to this one guy and he said he hurt his back really badly. So badly that he can barely walk or do his school work or even message me online. Do you think he is telling me the truth or making up an excuse?
There's not enough history or explanation to this story, but if he did hurt his back and can't do the other things, sitting there in a chair on-line would probably be painful too. Even all his all other factors are true except that one - maybe the guy needs so rest and you are just thinking of you, you, you.
You also sound and come across insecure as hell, paranoid and agonizing day and night over it.
I tore a back ligament once. I was in constant pain for the first couple days. I could not do anything, including sitting abolutely still, without being in stabbing, searing pain.
So if true, he may legitimately not feel like being social.
Hmm...he could be telling the truth. Back pain can be really really terrible. I'd give him awhile and see if he contacts you once he's supposedly feeling better. But I wouldn't sit around waiting for him.
Stop by his place with a container of Chicken Soup, some crusty bread and a small dessert of some sort and tell him you just wanted to see how he was doing and give him a good hot meal. That will let you see for yourself what is going on.
He may be telling the truth. Many times when people throw out their back the only position that is comfortable is laying flat on their back.
