Correct, Johnny Carson's dialect was considered a perfect representation of what an American should speak like, he was from Nebraska. The Great Lakes cities tend to have some form of exaggerated letter "A" in their dialects. South of Interstate 70 takes on a more southern dialect.
To be honest, I was at a bar and my friend was talking to some guy and I was bored so I just started chatting with the guy next to me. I didn't even notice his looks. He must have kept my interest because after my friend left, we stayed and kept talking. I ended up giving him my phone number and he called me a few days later. We've been married 27 years now.
He was just an average looking guy but he did have bad teeth. He got braces at age 35 and we've got two adult children with gorgeous blue eyes!! So there ya go. You just never know. People need to quit picking people apart about their outward appearances and go deeper intellectually. Give people a chance.

That's my mantra. Sometimes easier said than done. I tend to like someone average height, slight build ... not necessarily thin or toned. I'm okay with average, just not big boned. That said, you never know who you're going to hit it off with. And if you hit it off, suddenly you are attracted to their appearance.
Eyes. I pay attention to whether or not he looks into mine.
