call the father up.

I am a respectable young man with honorable intentions"

If he writes poetry, what about making up a poem asking her to prom and having it delivered to her with a small gift.

The Father might like you, but chances are the girl would never speak to you again.

LOL, exactly.

If she already knows they are going to the prom together, why is the ASKING such a big deal? I just don't get it, it seems so fake. I thought the fun and excitement was in the night of the prom itself. Now it seems like the buildup is more important than the actual event. Daft.

Females now even expect emotional foreplay before social functions. Where does it end?

Another idea -- get a recordable Teddy bear from Hallmark and have him says some nice things along with inviting her. Then she can play it over and over!
Thanks for voting and for your suggestion, Blinx. The Teddy bear sounds like a cute idea. I'll have to see if the local Hallmark has those. Rep coming.

Thanks, mainebrokerman! Rep for you.
I hadn't even thought of that! It's a great idea. The parents already love him.

I don't like to ask him to write poetry, but since you are the second person to suggest it. . . Maybe a little suggestion wouldn't hurt.

Thanks! Rep for you.

She might think he is even more amazing for asking her dad.

Hmmm when I asked my prom date out, I just left him a note asking him to the prom. And call me if you want ro go?

Get a fancy painting done of your son in a tuxedo and standing next to a limousine. Have him holding flowers and smiling. May be cheesy yet memorable.
