I have only been to a strip club once in the 80s in Newport KY, I did not stay long, the place was as nasty as the people there, the dancers looked like strung out addicts and the guys looked like they just got out of prison. Eventually the city of Newport shut these places down.
I've gone to strip clubs with my wife a couple times to watch female dancers. I must say, I would never compare that to going to the movies. It was more fun watching the male customers make fools of themselves than it was to watch the dancers. The only time I've gone to see male strippers was when I was invited by the club owner to take pictures. Him and I were the only two men, besides the male dancers in the building. I must say I've never seen so many crazy women in one room in my life. Some of them were bolder than I suspected they would be, some of them just couldn't keep their hands to themselves.

Those sound like my kind of women, I like women who can't keep their hands to themselves. I go to strip clubs ocassionally but not often, it is entertaining to me.
Going to strip clubs is like going to a resturaunt to look at food.
In Germany where prostitution is legal that is an argument. In other jurisdictions there are two things going on. The Magic Mike audience where the goal is to embarrass the customers among their friends and then the legal form of prostitution. For an example what the Robert Davi character Al Torres in the movie Showgirls is telling a new dancer how to be a prostitute without crossing the legally definition of prostitution since the dancer did not directly touch the genitals or allow penetration or the Elizabeth Berkley's main character actually doing it on screen to Kyle MacLachlan.
It wasn't the floor show or pole dancing chic update of old burlesque shows in an age of free porn which caused the explosion in the number of quasi legal brothels
How in the world did strip club get equated to girlfriends?
One is entertainment the other is a whole lot more.... if you cannot see the difference there is something seriously wrong here.
