The one thing he mentioned not to do is marry someone of another faith. This happened with King Solomon and his foreign wives. God didn't want him to marry them because they served other Gods and then would get him to do it too.
Interesting. Thanks for explaining your POV.

I don't really care for anyone's political views, but I think any woman that believes in communism or socialism is a moron. I would look down anyone who would support communism, arguably the most evil ideology in history.

None of them, quite honestly.

She can have opinions that differ with my own.

I guess my perspective on such things is that my perspective isn't really 'right', not any more than someone else's perspective. I don't have the right answers and it really doesn't matter at the end of the day what you think the right answers are. What matters more are your actions, not your thoughts. If you're an atheist but your actions speak to your goodness, then that's what matters.

Thoughts are meaningless without action. Action that is meaningful trumps even the most 'right' thought. Fortunately, what actions are good isn't hard to figure out and even harder to hide. What is behind that action isn't as important as the action itself.

I guess what I'm saying is that given the choice between someone who disagrees with me totally in every ideological debate but goes out into the world and acts virtuously and someone who is in total agreement with me idealogically but doesn't act virtuously, I'd choose the person whose actions I find agreeable.

Being pro-choice and pro-legalization are absolutely mandatory requirements for me.
Atheism or something close to it is necessary, too.
And if he wants kids, that ain't gonna' happen with me, so he'd best move on...

If the guy wasn't on board with those then we'd detest each other anyway,
there'd be zero chance for any involvement/relationship.

I can't "check my politics" at the bedroom door,
'cause the political is personal, in my book.

Anyone who equates communism and socialism or who doesn't realize that all governmental systems have aspects of socialism is a moron.

Public schools, social security, medicare, medicaid, food and drug regulation, fire departments, police departments, garbage pickup, sewage systems, roads, and water treatment, among other things, are all "socialism."

Communism is the antithesis of freedom. Do you think its a coincidence that everywhere Communism went, it produced evil? Its the herpes of political ideologies. Why do you think people wanted out so badly from East Berlin but not West Berlin?

Having public schools or roads is not socialism. Its like equating having highways with Nazism.

That's nice. It also has nothing to do with anything I said in my post, nor do I necessarily disagree with it (subjective definitions of "evil" aside).

You are so confused with this statement don't even know where to start. You're still equating Communism with socialism, among other leaps of logic.

Disagree. I believe atheism is just as much a form of faith as any other. I am agnostic, because I don't know. I don't believe, but I might be wrong.

^Thanks for the ego boost
appreciate the "seal of approval"

You'd be surprised (or maybe not) by how many guys I've run into on online sites
who in their profiles & msgs. proclaim they have *no* views on the issues (such as worship & voting).
It astounds me, how they can have no stance or attitude towards stuff that matters, and impacts all our lives.

I'm not asking for dense policy analysis, that's above my head-
but for goodness' sakes, let me know if you agree or disagree with me-
so I can determine whether we'd be compatible.

People who pretend to have no opinion,
in my opinion, *do* have opinions,
they're just not even self-aware enough to realize what they think/feel.
