We are watching the Smithsonian Channel. We are nerds here.
Nothing wrong with that, I indulge on occasion, but I gave up on some educational channels a while back, as most just have shows on big foot and extraterrestrial sitings paranormal activities and the like. What can I say, I've dumbed down over the last couple of years, I mostly indulge in fluff, except for the news and most of my reading materials.
We watched the long ranger tonight... man.... it's was definitely on the dog side of movies... it had some funny scenes and the action was pretty good... but it was too long and it was pretty much Johnny Depp doing Jack Sparrow, only as a native American instead of a pirate....

We enjoyed the movie and without JD it would have been MST3000 class, though it did seem to drag out. JD is hard to beat in the offbeat/quirky role category. The only other person that could do that role well would have been Heath Ledger. IMO

Overall I was more entertained than not, I guess my beef was that for the 2.5 hrs of the film, it felt long and there were a lot of scenes where I felt somewhat bored....

I'm still an undercover nerd though.
If you get the Smithsonian Channel, give it a try. My current fave is a show called Aerial America. It's an aerial tour of the states, each state with its own one hour episode. It's great.
In other news, home sick today and watching news coverage of this MONSTER storm. I can't help but roll my eyes at the coverage. OMG...Central Park got six inches of snow!
