Actual black hair, jet black, isn't found on many people. It's usually a mix of browns and even some reds. It's also not flattering unless you have the right skin tone and you can always tell when someone is using hair dye to get it black because it's so unnatural looking. I couldn't stop staring at my neighbor today, she obviously just dyed her hair. I wanted to tell her to go with a deep chocolate brown next time because no woman in her 50's, even if she's Hispanic, has solid bottle jet black hair....it was distracting. Especially since she missed a few spots around her temple/ear and the gray was showing.
Based on comments from people, I'd say that more women lean towards the "tall, dark and handsome" types. Me, I prefer "less tall and lighter hair-eyes" types, although I've grown to find ALL types attractive.
Personally I find blondes least attractive; that's just my preference. I love girls with dark hair and either really dark eyes or very bright (blue) eyes. However that's not to say that I don't find blonde women attractive. There are plenty of blonde women that are attractive but I just prefer darker hair, for me the darker the better. I find black hair exotic and for some reason it just does something for me. However I wouldn't rule out any woman solely on hair color.
