No, that isn't true at all. I have no prejudice against women. I love all the women in my life. But I am not physically attracted to them. You can call it that if it makes you happy, but it definitely is not a prejudice.

Just like employment law, which says that if someone has a tiny company with only a few employees, their hiring can be biased against people of a certain ethnicity or gender or orientation or whatever. They don't have to work up close with people who creep them out, even if that is a result of prejudice.

I am biased, though, against people who believe that what they are attracted to is hardwired, in all its tiny details, and cannot be changed. I won't date them.

Big stuff like gender or culture, I can believe it.

I go by the definition and physical attraction is not based on reason or actual experience. Physical attraction is also not based on reason or actual experience. It doesn't make me happy calling a spade a spade. No need to call a donkey a mule.

No, you are making an exclusion for one based on the definition of the other. They are neither similar nor opposite terms...they have nothing to do with each other.

No I'm not. I'm using common sense. You do know that things that have nothing to do with each other can be logically related in at least one way in this universe. You're prejudice against those you aren't attracted to due to physical attraction. They never had a freaking chance. You also have your preferences as what you prefer. Preferences and prejudice have nothing to do with each other yet some situations qualify to be both. Feel free to go over that definition of prejudice and tell me is physical attraction falls in either category which allows it to be excluded from the designation of prejudice.

I already did. You simply want to believe your own definition. You are free to do so.

When preference hurts someone who has done nothing to you
And presents no risk of doing so- you may have crossed the line into prejudice
Where what's been generalized are the trans-generational hatreds over time.
When prejudice is harmless and effects only yourself,
It just might be a preference you have stored on an inner shelf.
