Never having had a relationship before, I still know how you feel. When I was hurt by someone I liked a lot, I was angry too. I have since let that go and I just live life. I do believe that romantic lasting love does exist. Only a lucky few get it. You have to be open to things, and allow your heart and mind to be free. I do agree that today's society is to blame for so many failed relationships these days because there is so much pressure. I believe love happens when the person is ready for it, and it happens in its own time.
I sometimes wonder is if single men in their 40's who want to fall in love exist.
There was a short clip of the female award announcers for the grammies or the oscars or some sht and they said " Gravity, a movie where a man will disconnect his lifeline and float off into space and certain death rather than spend the rest of the time he has left with a woman his own age..."

What the Op says makes perfect sense if you remove human emotion, caring, and empathy from a relationship. It makes sense if a person is and can only be self serving with has a lack of remorse for tossing others aside. Essentially, what he says is what love is to a sociopath.
This is exactly what the Op is about... removing emotion, making love "economic," and looking at "love" as win/lose with a hidden agenda.
Can't rep you again, lady...lets make it perfectly clear, EVERYONE, people who can't figure out that love and other people are not objects that serve their gratification are not healthy emotionally, and no amount of clue-by-four upside the head will change that for them...but, we on the other hand - can avoid them...which I DO, as a hobby.

The Axe Body Spray would ideally be of assistance in the stimulating your reproductive instincts.
4. My ancestry contains few genetic deficiencies, and my DNA contains no unusual and hazardous mutations. It is likely my offspring will survive and procreate.
5. When I look at you, my pupils do not dilate because I am terrified of you, or because it is dark out. They dilate because I find you aesthetically appealing.
