about a year or so ago I was reading a craigslist ad of a woman lamenting about how aweful it was dating men in their 40's. If a man is single in his 40's it means one of a handfull of things, he lost his rear end in a divorce or 2, was treated as chopped liver by women, is asexual or is rich and managed to play all the way till 40 (we should all be so lucky).

Yep there is all kinds of statistical outlyers. Its probably the virgin doctor with a half million dollar home who lost his best sex drive years while the woman was out with the bad boy sucking him off. that is probably the majority of 40 year old single guys im sure lol.
If he only was interested in one woman his entire life (and the wrong one, at that), that could be his problem.
Maybe that woman was the only one interested in him? Not many guys have the kind of options guys who are successful and women think all men have.
