Oh you would be surprised, I've ruffled a few casserole feathers simply by asking why one would ruin a perfectly good dish substituting low fat, no fat, no flavor ingredients for the real thing.....

SD, a friend of mine has over 6000 cookbooks and I have a few hundred. I have a few first editions signed by the cooks and a couple from a good friend who gave me a couple of her Mother's cookbooks and a set of pillow cases her Mother made and a feed sack shaped bank that is really cute. She has given me a few of her old bowls as well and a couple things that belonged to her Auntie's.

Sounds good, I can get behind some good French onion soup.

You do most of the cooking or do you split it up with Beagle??
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're funny, Chow.

Not to bring the mood down again, but your post about missing a whole side of your family hit home. That's what my sister is doing to my niece (and us). It sucks, and there's nothing we can do about it.

I just hope my niece turns into a rebellious brat.

I love cookbooks. They can be very interesting, especially when they have stories or other details behind the recipes, and the photography can be beautiful. But collecting them, for me, could get out of hand in a big hurry, lol, so I stopped doing that. Maybe you have more restraint, though, lol.

You'd be surprised, lol. For the most part, though, they're pretty fun.

Did you do that on purpose?

That's so funny (as Chow already explained).

I like all of the typical "man food" things like meatloaf, burgers, BBQ, mac and cheese, things like that.

Sort of explains the belly here.... good lord, I stood in front of the mirror a day or two ago and had to get real with myself.

I'm turning into a real porker..... LOL....

Mrs. CHow was just in the kitchen getting some veggies chopped up for dinner tonight. A Thai style chicken veggie soup.

I was just talking about wanting French Onion soup, EL Jeffe vetoed it and hence the Thai chicken soup.

I've been eating like a 300 pound linebacker lately, need to dial it down and soup is a good way to start....
Lol, I love French onion soup, but I just wasn't feeling it at all right now.

I have a big-ish cookbook collection. One of my guilty pleasures. I like to try a new dish every so often. Tonight we are having firey angel hair with shrimp. It's quick and easy.
Lol!

Damn it, now you're making me regret it! Balsamic!

That's the big thing with that recipe, cutting up so many onions. Raw onion fumes and I don't get along, lol.

Lmao! At 1:10:

Sheesh, if you guys think the (moderated) C-D forums are bad, you should have seen the old AOL Canine Behavior board. Yowzers!!! That was the first board I posted on, and I got used to telling people exactly what I thought of them. It gets me into trouble here. LOL

I rough slice the onions. I cut them in half and strips. Into the skillet. I added the balsamic for some body and color.

There is another forum that I rarely go to, but it's like the wild west in that one, people get really really ugly and nasty...

It's actually a cess pool, and I don't go there very often.

I sometimes do wish that CD had and R rated section that if you wanted to go to... but that's ok, the internet is full of stuff if you want things other than pg13....

Heck, I think if I had a kid I'd have to install some software to ease up on the porn stuff.

Good lord, I've typed in some word combo during a search and some of the stuff that comes up... LOL.....

yes, bring on the porn jokes.....

I'd like the idea of a R rated section. I Keep toying with the idea of a private group for the regulars.
