I live in a big city where I met this girl for a first date. I drove and she took public transportation. It seemed to go well and I offered to drive her home, which she accepted. Now I don't think I am going to hear back from her. I don't think she should have let me drive her home if she had no intentions of going out with me again. Discuss.
I can't stand this quid pro quo attitude displayed by some people around here. Can't you just do something nice for the sheer sake of being a decent human being? Wtf is wrong with people these days?
I guess giving someone a ride home within the same city doesn't seem like a big deal. It's annoying to spend time and money on a date that goes nowhere, but that's how dating works.

So ... she should've given you a few bucks for the ride instead? Sign up as an Uber driver then.
I blame the OP. He should have negotiated the terms of ridership before agreeing to taking her home. For example, for every five miles driven, she agrees to one additional date. If he opens her door for her prior to vehicle entry and exit, that's a 10-second hug. If she maintains pleasant conversation throughout the ride's duration, she agrees to a romantic kiss. If his choice of music is profoundly good, then he is permitted to "make a move" at her doorstep.
You know, because life is one big negotiation...gentleman or not.

She took public transportation there as I said in my post.
