I'm not sure what I want as far as work goes, but one of the things is what you said: No stress. I sit and watch the 20- and 30-somethings having near-breakdowns over work and I try to tell them that it just isn't worth it (though I was a workaholic when I was that age, so guess I see myself in them). I can get buy with less income, but I would like to make enough to take care of my house. I also would like to help people, if not through work, then through volunteering after work hours. I just need something to matter these days. Something needs to make sense.
And, yeah, we don't know when our last day will be. No one leaves his or her home in the morning, heading toward work, thinking that they will be in an accident or in crossfire.
I am working on putting together a course of medical training for firefighters. I might even offer it to law enforcement. Even complete with book, presentations and lecture. I want to have this done in the next 30 days.
Thoughts and prayers to the people of San Bernadino . . .
