Just ask her out to dinner. Best case scenario: you have a nice time. Worst case scenario: She says no. Side benefit: You get to practice following your instincts and asking someone out.

We can all render the advice to abstain from anything rash, to not make commitments that can't be honored, castles in the air, and that sort of thing. But the OP's situation might feel like a windfall in an exotic location. He'd be kicking himself for years if he doesn't pursue the opportunity. Is it dangerous? Maybe, especially if taken too far. But how does one know this, while in the moment?

I've done this kind of thing before, and it is a nice memory to keep tucked away. It's great when that's all it is.
But the chances of what could be a nice fling becoming a painful, uncertain, drawn-out overseas imbroglio are high.
