I once got hit on at Barnes and Noble. We were actually boyfriend and girlfriend for a minute, but she was rebounding from her other relationship so that fizzled out, and we lost contact. I see someone that looks like my ex-girlfriend but I'm really not sure if it is her.

..oh well, next.

Bookstores are good for striking up casual conversations. Especially if they have a music section, it seems.

My good spots seem to be bookstores and libraries, especially if I say anything about being a writer.

One of my friends know that I'm a writer and I have shown them the first draft of my screenplay. She also knows about my regular job as a writer (the reason I'm not posting here that much anymore, gotta pay the bills). I actually make more as a writer than I ever did working a regular job. To top it off, I have the potential to earn even more.

For some reason, me being a writer does captivate...

You're a writer? You've been holding out on us, Jenk! What kind of writing: technical, news/features, sci-fi/mysteries, pulp, entertainment, or other? Let us know when you get your first break with the screenplay. And congrats on tapping into your talents and turning it into a career!

I started out doing health, then I started writing about tech companies, I also do entertainment when I have the time. I also blog (whenever I get the chance)

I'm also writing a book that talks about the past seven years of my life (from being homeless to starting to make money as a writer).

Among the screenplays I am writing are an urban war epic, a Quentin Tarantino style mystery film, and a series of films inspired by westerns.

The book could be inspiring, but it's really hard to break into publishing these days, as an unknown. Maybe if you found a small niche publisher...

I've been approached at the grocery store on many occasions. It was not my M.O. for meeting people, however. I wasn't all the receptive to it.
