At a wedding a guy makes a dance related joke and then proceeds to place a hand in the appropriate dance position? How is this offensive and not related to the joke he made?

I've always found it best with strangers to not touch them outside of a handshake until you get to know them. I'm trying to avoid a swift punt to the jewels.

Or an example of someone who isn't comfortable being touched in that manner by someone they don't know?
The fact that someone is "paired with someone in a wedding party" doesn't mean that they are required to let go of whatever personal boundaries they may have.
Come back and complain when he actually touches you on more interesting places.
Anywhere that is normally covered by a bathing suit . Although maybe the OP only wears a one-piece, in which case her concern makes perfect senses.
