Everybody keeps saying how Tinder is a "hookup app." Even those who say it's transitioned to a more conservative dating site still say how it largely remains "hookup-based."

Does that mean that users can be overtly sexual there, which would be considered vulgar on a site like Match.com? I don't mean to be crude, but if it's a hookup app, does that a mean that when there's a mutual match, a man can introduce himself by saying something to the effect of "Nice shoes, wanna Mod cut." -- and it's something that's expected and not out of the norm? Or is it still expected that there's some kind of neutral or conversational "getting-to-know-you" stuff?

On a site like OkCupid or Match you can't write a message which is overtly sexual. It's considered inappropriate and rude. But is it OK on Tinder?

Before you do, please read the Tinder Nightmares account on Instagram so you’ll get ideas on what hasn’t worked.

Most of the men who I communicate with on Tinder do not make sexual comments to me, so I wouldn’t suggest you do that unless you’re sure that she’s strictly looking for hookups.

There are people who found relationships through tinder, but it's mostly a hook-up app for young people between the ages of 18-25

I lasted less than a day on there. I'm not even really conservative, but after seeing the trashy stuff on there I felt like running to a church and asking for a Bible.

Tell that to all of the 25+ people who are on there. I'm meeting a guy tomorrow who's 42, never married, has not made any sexual comments to me, and says that he's looking for a LTR.

And even women who are looking for hookups might not respond positively to porny vulgarities from a stranger.

LOL! That's how I was with POF. It was my first experience with OLD and I lasted less than 36 hours.
Felt like runnin' home to mamma!

OP, what do YOU want to get out of your Tinder experience? Do you want to be taken seriously?

I think it's pretty apparent from the OP that he is looking for sex without any fuss.
