It's interesting how so many people are responding like they know THIS person; the subject of this thread. So what's his name, and where does he live, oh experts?
Well I wouldn't say the guy's name on the internet, where he lives isn't relevant either.
He did tell me his company is late with his paycheck and that's why he can't afford to go on a real date.(He works for a Fortune 500 company for over ten years now, I can't imagine a company like that is late with paychecks but whatever.) Then he blew up, exploded in anger that I do not "trust" him. Started to launch in with name-calling. But I canceled the date anyway.

His name, place of residence, and place of employment are irrelevant to your original post.
What *is* relevant is that he not only lacks creativity when it comes to dates (a real date need not be expensive), he seems to be financially irresponsible for a man of his age (guessing that he's at least thirty? A man of his age should be able to offer more than "hanging out" as a second date), tells falsehoods (most places these days do direct deposit rather than issue physical paychecks--especially corporate entities. As a result, unless there is a glitch in the system, late paychecks are a rarity), and has a hair-trigger temper.
To my way of thinking, a man who doesn't trust a woman's instincts to protect herself by not potentially deliberately putting herself in a vulnerable position with a relative stranger is not a man who either likes or respects women.
Thank goodness you didn't find yourself alone with him before he revealed his true nature.

He is 35. Drives a new car so I'm guessing he is tied up with monthly car payments and it's a strain on his budget. Or some other pressing financial problem that's going on. I'm not going to ever find out at this point.

Glad you cancelled it. If he really works at a Fortune 500 company it is extremely unlikely that they were late with the paycheck. It sounds like you dodged a bullet.

No, I always talking about everyone else, who are responding as though they know this guy, and knowing his thoughts and intentions. Anyway, it sounds like we've moved on...
