Not really anything to do with a relationship per se, but I did buy lunch for a coworker of mine. I was talking with this guy during our lunch break earlier today, and got to know all sorts of things about him; most of which wasn't too good. He's 20, had a kid when he was 17, then promptly got kicked out of the house not long after by the mother. He never finished high school (coincidentally, he went to my same high school but I didn't know him then). He was homeless for a while (as a teenager still), then did some time attending raves and taking all manner of drugs and whatnot. Basically, he did a pretty good job of screwing up his life for those few years. Except now he's really straightened out his act, got a job, found an apartment, stopped doing drugs, etc. etc. Unfortunately, he also lives paycheck to paycheck, and between paying rent and buying gifts for his daughter, he doesn't really have much money. He stated that he hadn't actually eaten since lunch the previous day and that he wouldn't be able to eat until his check hit tomorrow. As much as I didn't feel like spending any of my hard-earned money on a guy who had so thoroughly messed himself up, I did understand that he was trying to make up for his mistakes, so I treated him out to a full meal at the food court. He thanked me profusely, and I told him to not worry about paying me back.

Had a great workout this morning with some incredibly good stretching so I feel very good right now - even better now that I read LeoZ's post!

I bought a beautiful umbrella for myself for my birthday. I lost my last one and a plain umbrella just won't do!

Had some ice cold cantaloupe for breakfast, followed by some hot black tea with milk and sugar.

Read an email and smiled.

Life is good.
