Is there a rule about when to put them up? Oh, never mind... now I remembered my HOA also only allows them to be up 30 days before a holiday...
I was quite happy everything is OK after I discovered this morning my front door has been unlocked since the other day... I know I tend to forget it as I rarely use it, but some people give me weird looks when I lock right after they come in for a few minutes, so I guess I didn't this time, but the landscaper guy left through the back door and moi and my belongings were available to everybody for good 3 days...

The sales girls said they are going to put up their decorations on October 1st. My HOA is definitely a different breed. If the neighbors do something that is considered "distasteful", they are just snubbed socially for a while...
