Love is a very individual thing. Like someone else already said, for some it's easy and the relationship is without episode. For others the drama just seems to follow into each stage of life yet the couple will stay together and fight for the love to grow. Love is what you make of it. It can be good, bad, ugly, beautiful. Do you really want "easy" all the time? You need a little challenge now and then to keep life interesting....
Is Love Easy
Heck no! Any relationship is difficult...it's a give and take...
Anyone you've ever loved and lived with, mother/father, sister/brother, girlfriend, etc...
No love is NOT Easy, but it is only as difficult as we make it....
we as human beings have this crazy idea, because we were raised to think and believe (by our parents) as we do, then everyone else should think and feel the same way and they don't, or can't, because of the way they were raised to think and feel.
I don't think "love" is difficult at all, it's very easy to love. I do think there are serious flaws in the modern day marriage though, maybe that's why people perceive love to be hard.

it's easy to love, but the duration of love certainly has it's trials and tribulations...takes two very mature, allowing people who respect each other to survive a relationship. I've had many girlfriends whom I've loved, some I've known since 7th grade and before that....but we've remained friends for so long b/c we were able to allow each other, plus tollerance, plus a lot of good happy times and fond memories.
I wish it were possible to find a male friend to love the same way...ohhhh to love him like a girlfriend, but still on a much deeper intimacy... mentally....Wow!!!!
I just don't understand why people continue to complicate such a simple process. They drag their old baggage (sometimes even from childhood) into a new relationship and continue to have drama.
Love is so easy, all we need to do is enjoy it every moment we have it, regardless of how long, it may be short lived, it may be everlasting. The future is unknown, we can get so caught up in trying to own the love rather than enjoy it that we lose all perspective of the process and forget how glorious is can be. Then we label love as being difficult, when we are really the ones who have made it so.
I agree with moonsavvy again. More than 6 out of 10 people I've dated or been close to are like as she described. They make everything so complicated and miserable by dragging their excess emotional garbage and toxins into each new relationship or potential one.
