Is it my imagination or am I seeing so many suggestions to spice up the sex life relating to doing household chores or some form of "payment" to get sex. **** me Agnes, the world's on fire! This makes me feel like there are conditions, work related ones at that, for being able to have sex. How is that different from going to Vegas and contracting with an escort service (other than it involves someone else)?
Warning! Gross generalization to follow...
Let's face it folks, we are from different planets. We men see an attractive women somewhere and within moments, we are bending her over and doing her right there on the spot. And she's enjoying it! Women, on the other hand, need preparation and are inherently less interested in sex. Oh there's plenty of it before marriage when both are on their best behavior but...
So our libidos are inherently different. If more of us approached the subject logically, more of us would forgoe marriage. The logic here is that if sex is truly that important, and it diminishes with marriage and even more so after children, why would we do it?
Now, I am speaking up after 19 years of marriage and one child. I love my wife and child and we are all still together. Nonetheless, if you asked me, or a majority of married men out there, if we are getting enough, you'd get a resounding "no". Before any of you get your panties in a wad, I'm not talking about twice a day but just simply more.
Fellas?
I have heard this many times.
I recall years ago reading Ann Landers advise columns, commonly she would explain that men give 'security' in exchange for sex. Whether that security meant cash on the barrel head or marriage. And that woman viewed relationships as trading their sex for security.
She compared marriage to prostitution all of the time.
Now attending marriage counseling and in groups of other married men, I hear it again and again.
There are many men, in our boat.
As for your 'twice a day' comment, well, once a year would be a HUGE increase in this house. I hate buying calendars, every year it reminds me, another year of marriage without 'it'.
Seems in line with the suggestions that women wear something sexy (preferably red) keep themseves thin, waxed, etc. cook a good meal, clean house, etc. to keep their mans attention. Anything worth having takes a little effort.
I disagree.
Keeping our attention is not the issue, is it?
Who honestly cares if a female is thin?
or shaves?
or cooks? [I cook],
or cleans house? [I clean our house]
I do not care about any of those things.
Look when I attempt to kiss my Dw, she extends her arms straight forward, elbows locked, she puts her hands on my chest, to hold me away. We stretch and crane our necks to try and reach each other. She can not bare to be within an arm's reach of a man.
Comments like:
"Hurry up! are you done yet?"
"Lets get this over with"
"Look your done, I have a grocery list to put together"
Are not phrases from a woman who needs to get her husband's attention.
I know many men, myself included, who do not care what a woman wears.
I had my tubes tied reluctantly. No, I did not want to have any more children with my husband, and no I am no longer with him.
The dr wanted me to have a hysterectomy because of something he thought may have been wrong with me.
After a few years of his insistence, I had it done. I was still married at the time. The thing he thought was the matter was not, he was close.
So, now I cannot just have my tubal ligation reversed if I want another child. Not that easy anymore. Do I want another child? With the man I am with? I probably would, if I were able.
