Is it me or have been a lot of threads lately where someone posts and then never responds again?

I think some people are just in emotional turmoil at the time, find some forum, post, and then don't care about their post anymore. Of course, some are simply trolls.

That is one of my least favorite things about CD. Whats even worse is when the subject has obvious "Troll like" tones and people here respond and respond until the thread is several pages long.

Yes, I have noticed that and it's odd when that happens. Or, they post with a problem or situation, and don't tell us what happened!!

There have been lots of threads in which the OP only has 1 post count.

What's the difference between yapping on our own or on some troll's thread, DaBeez? Actually, I appreciate them - they save us time and head-scratching about what the next BS should be...

Are we talking about the op posting and never returning? Or someone just answering with their opinion once and then never returning? B/c I can see rational scenerios for both.

For the op, I know I started a thread asking people for their favorite restaurants in our area. So when they answered, I would just check back and see what people wrote and then continued to make a mental list of new places to eat. Why would I have to continually respond to that? I did give some reps.

For an answer, well...you read the post, you answer the question, and then you move on. What else is there? I know sometimes there is a debate or something interesting that you want to follow up on, but sometimes it's a question like, "What is your favorite ____?" or "Should I sleep around on my boyfriend?" Those questions only take one answer...lol!

I was thinking of the people who post in this forum asking us about a problem and never responding. Even if we ask questions for clarification. I can understand if it's a general informantion quesytion like a restaurant.

btw stan4, I love the Samantha Fox reference.

I remember this one time when this "cat guy" started a post telling everyone they were free to ask anything they wanted to him and he took off to the litter box.

40 or so posts later he returned. LOL!!!

Well, I don't hold this against him. Work can interfere with the best of intentions.
