My MIL is one tough lady. Short Italian lady with a Napoleon complex. The lady has bigger cajones than most men. There is no reasoning with her. Nice enough lady, but look out.

Unfortunately my wife has some of these tendencies also.

Is this a common trait in Italian women?

You type in Napoleon complex and there is a lot of relations to short inferiority. "short persons complex". How's that.

yes most italian woman are tough--cause they have to be!
my guess is she grew up in a house where she had no say or control in anything, and once she was finally in her husbands home, she was able to have some control--and no one is going to take that away from her~
