No phones (maybe a short wave radio), internet is a must, so there would be satellite. Of course, there would be quads, snow machines to get around in the summer & winter, animals to take care of. It would be a hard life, but would have big rewards, as far a nature and such goes.

Note: Remote AK could be any place remote, doesn't have to be AK.

Just wondering if those type of women are still around and if you would, why?

Thanks for reading.
in a heartbeat YES

my absolute dream and ideal and deepest heart's desire is to live in a remote wilderness area

yes, I am a female. Why would I do that?
Because I am happiest when I am out on the land in really remote wilderness areas. That's who I am. It suits me well. The beauty of nature. The silence. The stillness. The no-technology. Hear myself think. Hear the heartbeat of the earth.

Nothing is better than that, nothing.

PS why does there have to be internet? If you're going to be with no technology, why mess it up with the internet? I'm just curious. Short wave I can see for supplies and basic communication, but why is internet a must?

I would like to think there are still some pioneer women out there who would be up to the challenge. I would definitely do something like that if I were younger.

I know I could, for a while at least. Just not sure that I would want to be so isolated now. I'm not exactly a social butterfly, but I do like people, and I thing eventually, I'd get cabin fever (or island fever)!!

I would if it were somewhere warm not Alaska & it were somewhere that Amazon delivers to lol. I dislike extreme cold, plus it is much easier to rough it and make do without modern comforts when it is warm.

Sounds to me like a life of luxury. My wife moved me here from my Paid for house in town. Here to the middle of nowhere. We had a Pickup and Chainsaw. No Electric,no Water,no Buildings, nothing.

First we had to clear out and build a Simple shelter. But we both found work 25 miles away.Nice to have Jobs but slowed things down.

So we got a 20'X20' Leanto built.was catching Rain water for our water needs.Coleman Lanterns for our lights.

We started on or House, but found Winter on us before we really got started.Had heavy snow, very cold Temps,no Insulation or Floors in the Leanto.Got so cold my socks froze to my feet.

Finally before the next Winter got Floors and Insulation in.Son loaned us the money to drill a Well.We still didn't have Electric so we had to draw water by hand.

Then finally we had a Lady tell us we was getting Electric if we wanted it or not.We paid her back for it.

Here it is 15 years later still in the Leanto but its Dry,warm,Electric with all the nice goodies of Modern living.Couldn't be Happier.

Forgot to add my wife does all the Electrical,Plumbing,Mechanic,Canning and Butchering. One that loves to go Camping and Fishing. She has went Hunting but don't care for it.Raised 6 kids, has 17 Grandkids, lost one to SID's.

She might look rough around the edges but I know where it all comes from.Right now she is working two Jobs and puts up with me.

OMG, I was about to ask if your wife is a woman (you never know on these forums), but your post clearly indicates so...
