Thanks for sharing your story Nos. I'm sorry your marriage had to end that way.

Mine wasn't a fake statistic like yours. Do just a little Googling and you'll find that it's pretty accurate.

I don't get it. OP is taking full responsibility for what happened, and everyone is jumping him, saying his wife was not being shallow. He already said she wasn't, that it was his fault.

As far as it being a troll-y thread, I can't expend that much energy over every thread on the board. Either I'm too lazy or I'm too dense.

My thoughts exactly. It's hard to imagine suddenly gaining 216 pounds in 6 years without having some kind of problem. I had a sudden weight gain of about 50 pounds one year, even dieting half that time. It was a grapefruit-sized brain tumor that messed up all kinds of hormones, etc.

While I admire the honesty of your post, the reason you state for gaining weight doesn't make any sense to me. I don't believe you can just start uncontrollably eating at some point in your life without a reason other than "loving" food. Something must've happened to set you off and most likely you were depressed.

Sorry your marraige ended. Hopefully some good came out of it and you both learned something.

I myself am very physically active in the outdoors. This keeps me fit, and staying fit is very important to me. I also could not stay with someone who gained a lot of weight. No thanks.
