When something unexpected and big happens to you, how do you figure out what it is that life is trying to tell you?
I was driving today and my vehicle got hit by a large city bus. Yikes. Obviously this shook me up pretty bad. Physically I am fine. Thirty-four years safe driving, never been cited for any accidents ever, this is a first for me.
I am someone who does not believe in coincidences, there is nothing random about the universe at all, and if something happens to me there is meaning behind it, part of a larger pattern, and life is trying to tell me something.
In the past when something "big" or "bad" has happened to me, I am usually able to have a sense of what it is related to, what life is asking me to pay attention to. But in this case I do not have a clue whatsoever, which has me baffled. This is new territory. Life is going great, finances are good, health is good, i love my job, happy where I am living.
What is your take? What has your experience been in these situations? Thank you as always for your input. I am looking forward to hearing and learning from your stories.

Geez, I know what you're saying b'c I feel like this a lot--in some situations. But other than watch out for large city buses, I'd have no clue on this one.
Well I am glad you are ok! I think of these things in this way too...
I think in your case it would be still considered great because your brain is not a pancake! ☺
First, I'm very glad to hear that you are alright. Secondly, I disagree. I don't believe in coincidences. However, if I were in your shoes, I would treat the bus accident as a wakeup call to make sure that you are appreciating being alive and in good health. You don't have to go crazy and go skydiving, but at the very least, take a deep breath and enjoy what you have.
When the weather is nice out, I like to sit on my back steps with my dogs and think about how lucky I am to be alive. I may not be a millionaire, but I do have a very pleasant and enjoyable life here in New England. I have the love of my boyfriend and pets. I am not being a baby factory in a third world country. I live in a country where women have equal rights to the men. And I have my good health. I love driving my little Civic around.
You werent on the cell phone or listening to an iPod I hope.
nope, i don't own a cell phone, so never talk or text or any of that, never do anything with headsets ever. I have the radio on, and this is the morning commute I have taken every day for 2 years. Good question though.

My ancestors always opined that instances as these happen owing to the jealousy of people around us.
If 5 people are jealous of you and curse you internally, the omens of something bad happening to you is high.
This is why my father always advised us to keep a low profile and not brag around in public.
This can be termed superstition and the like, but these are age old opinions, from the B.C's
Sometimes the reasoning behind certain events doesn't manifest itself for a while. Considering this just happened today, I bet you're going to have to wait some time before the answer is clear.
For the last 10 years I've questioned something about myself; wondering why I am this way, why don't I get to be like everyone else when it comes to this one thing...but I only recently realized why I have this "crutch", so to speak. It was more profound than anything I was expecting, but it took a LONG time to come about. I believe that happened because I'm finally in a position and a maturity level to understand it.

What is your take?
My take, is that the universe is warning you not to overestimate your roadway safety.
go and pick up a book called the Celestine Prophecy, it will enlighten you as to how your life is shaped and there are no coincidences. it also explains how to shape your future by greater undertsanding of things
a good read
ps glad you are ok
