Why are women so nasty to other women that look good? (wife, attractiveness)

it is serious insecurity. You do see a lot more of it in younger women, because most women are able to gain some confidence in themselves by at least 30, but I myself, have never understood the "catiness". I am like plaidmom, and adore my female friends, and make sure to tell them when they are looking beautiful. Pretty females do not threaten me, and as a matter of fact when I meet one that isn't a beeaaach I seriously want to know her, cause we (attractive, non beeaaach females) are a select breed.
Guys are more competitive in other ways, I have never heard of straight men doing this about another guys looks though.
I totally agree with Plaidmom. Don't women realize how obvious it is that they are jealous and just how unattractive that is? I've had many a gorgeous buddy - loved hangin with them and I saw just how evil women can be when the green-eyed monster comes out -eeewwwww!
Beacause women are all competeing for the top...say 15 or so percent of the best looking guys. So, the competition is intense. And women tend to lash out at other women that they feel are in comptition with for the attention of these top guys.
On the other hand, guys are much less picky, thus the "competition" is more evenly distributed resulting in less of it.
I can see this being a "whatever" in the teens because well..teens are insane. lol
But I notice this a lot in the adult world. I got treated totally differently by women when I was slobbed out and chunky. That was not me and after changing things I feel better. I still act the same. But women are strait up c**** with snide remarks if they think you might look better than they do it seems. Women never admit they do this and it seems only guys agree with me and laugh at the other women go "oh well I never"
What is the "man version" of this? Is there one?

When I look good my friends support and compliment me. Sometimes other women even hit on me. But nobody is mean to me.
we are jealous creatures, good looks are an enormous trump card. for it to fail you gota be a very very bad player. as to comments on women and competition.
its the female lions that do all the hunting and killing the male is a figurehead.
I'm just an animal nut...Most experts agree female lioness's do 70% of the active hunting...Often the male serves a passive guard role behind the females which reduces the battle ground.
Just wanted to add, remember that commercial "don't hate me because I'm beautiful?"
I don't seem to have this problem. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing! LOL
