I have a vague recollection of vinegar helping with high fever... Try it. If it doesn't help it's not gonna hurt anything...
Yeah, just checked - vinegar:water (cold)=3:1. Soak a towel/washcloth and put it on his forehead. Rub the rest on his body. Wrap him in a blanket so he doesn't shiver. You may also put socks soaked in this liquid on his feet. Somebody also recommends putting honey on the feet before putting the socks on. You may also add some baking soda to the vinegar & water.
another idea - grated potato in a cheese cloth (or whatever you have) on his forehead
another combination - vinegar, something like vodka/brandy/alcohol, and some made-into-powder aspirin (damn, I'm missing domestic vocabulary to this day )
Women also say to not let the kids sleep with such high fever! Just do those things, take the temp; do it again, take the temp... until it goes down.
I`m willing to try anything at this point! I`ll get out the vinegar and vodka!
He`s asleep right now...I`ll go wake him up. Thanks for the suggestions!

Hope it helps! The ol' wives knew what they were doing... The most prevalent opinion is vinegar and water, though. Try that first! Of course, the honey can't hurt under the socks simultaneously. Not sure if 3:1 is the right ratio necessarily... If it stings or something, perhaps you can dilute it a little more.

I woke him up, took his temp. it was still at 103.9. Rubbed him down all over with vinegar and cool water...Pewww!! I`m out of honey..
Sure can`t hurt anything. I`m new at this stuff.
Did you happen to see that cat fight video in another thread, Antlered? That's how I'm gonna come down on you...
What thread??
But seriously, why is that MLK fans keep writing U2 off. I swear I heard a million times that "pride" is their best song ever and nothing more, blah blah blah. I just like the opening guitars of Edgeman in that song. They have other songs where they rock all 9 planets. Well, eight, since Pluto got planetarily segregated to eternity

Did you put a soaked towel on his forehead? If not, go do it. I don't think the honey is that essential.

How about Gatorade to drink? Or maybe just plain water is best.
Maybe Gatorade is only for the stomach flu. But I know it gave me strength when I had none left. Electrolytes.
