A man I met at a dinner party some time ago, and occasionally see around town, unexpectedly asked me to lunch a couple of weeks ago. Remarkably, there seemed to be no agenda. I was quite relieved, since I don't feel "that way" about him.
He didn't seem to mind that I didn't visit the organization he volunteers with and politely turned down my invitation to come to a casual picnic with a group of friends.
Then, oddly, he sent me a rather formal email asking if we might be friends. This I sort of like. So we're going to dinner together tomorrow.
Perhaps this is the kind of relationship that goes no where fast? Why am I so delighted?
