You're fine - just as long as you don't hear voices from small appliances. I'm always smoking something out in the kitchen - went through two blenders in a year. This must be why I was never allowed to use the copier or fax at work.
Cookie dough! I swear, I am going to a restaurant supply store tomorrow and I am getting a commercial grade mixer...this is the 4th mixer I have gone through this year...thankfully the only one that has caught on fire
Yeah, I'm thinking it'd probably be well worth the extra money to pay for commercial grade.
I did that about three weeks ago....a very botched batch of cookies and a sparking mixer. No fire, though.
I had an SO leave a pan on the stove and leave the house to go down the way to his parents house - he left it on on purpose, didn't think he'd be gone that long. This house is old and there's wood cupboards above the stove instead of a vent and I came home and the place was inches from ablaze and the dogs were in the house.
I've blown out outlets before, but at least I know how to change those myself and telephone jacks too.

- and the other dog who was trying to cook is out too!
You gotta get him a little apron that says "Kiss the chef."
