I was having a discussion with some friends today about this. Of course, there are many things that raise a red flag in the majority of people's minds when it comes to dating; but there are other things that are based on our own individual dislikes. So, give a reason you'd turn somebody down that might seem unusual to others.

I personally don't like dating women who like mayonnaise. I dislike everything about it. The look, the smell, the taste, everything. To many, this would seem rather petty, but it's something I can't ignore. Just thinking about being with (or even worse, kissing) someone who loves mayonnaise is enough to make my stomach turn.

Ok, your turn.

My high school English teacher once remarked that he wouldn't look at a woman who wasn't a Star Wars fan.

If he swears too much and listen to too much Rap. I didn't care about that until I married someone who was just like that.

Haha, your thread reminds of Seinfeld, all the ridiculous reasons they had for not being with someone.

I'm trying to think of something. I couldn't be with someone who gave me "high fives," I guess.

I can't think of any petty reason not to date a woman. i think in general, the rough comes with the smooth. nobody is perfect, and furthermore what is perfection?

This may not fit in the with OP's intended spirit for the thread, but to me it's only big reasons, like different outlooks, personalities, interests, etc. I couldn't date a woman who couldn't stimulate me intellectually (apart from the other way ). So no soap operas, celebrity magazines, etc. I'm of UK origin, and I'd want my SO to have some opinion on this hung parliament issue. I wouldn't want her thinking a hung parliament is a parliament with great sexual prowess.

I wouldn't even be able to be civil to someone if they were a Red Sox or Cowboys fan.

What if she isn't into politics? A person may know a lot about English history and culture, and still not care about hung parliaments.

I'd like to add:

I couldn't date somebody who likes all those 80's pop love ballads. There's so many of them and they're all terrible.
