Yes, it's one of those silly hypothetical questions that 13-year olds like to ask, but honestly, if you could press two buttons: one to kill your own child, and one to kill x number of people, what value would 'x' need to be so that you'd press the first button?

If your answer is 'I'd rather die, or neither' then don't bother answering this question.

This is a serious question, btw, lol.

Yeah I knew I'd get responses like this. People don't take it seriously because it touches a nerve.

I'm dead serious, so it's a serious question. I'm sure at least one parent has had the make that decision somewhere at least once...

No, they don't take it seriously because it's not a real question. Things like this don't happen in our world so it's not part of our reality.

The Internet is a wonderful place to waste time, but this thread has elevated time wasting to an art form.

It is indeed silly and hypothetical, and unanswerable as well.

Everyone. Sorry ya'll, but my kids come first. We'll figure out how to repopulate the planet later.

I see posts where either they are saying that they would sacrifice their child over bible nonsense, or were told by their parents that if it came down to them or the bible, they would lose.

But I love you ................... Now where have I heard that before

I'd kill my child readily. Now replace "my child" with "me" and I'd be willing to kill every last one of you.
