Simple. They say, "I'm gay."

Unless they live in a town with a lot of fundamentalist bigots who want to discriminate and they need to keep their jobs and a roof over their heads. Some day that will change and the fundamentalist bigots will find out their beliefs are as welcome as sheep dip in a pie factory.

Vizio,

Don't waste your time with her, she is setting you up for yet another circular argument. Her answer has nothing to do with why you asked that question and I think we have all seen where these conversations end up.

I'm not sure how the sexual practices of someone is something that should be discussed with a potential landlord, employer, etc.

So what happens when I introduce myself and my fiancee? OR someone introduces themselves and their spouse? That announces their sexual orientation without mentioning any sexual practice.

What's the difference? One was discriminating based on race, one is based on orientation. Both are innate characteristics that have been targets of discrimination. Why is that insulting? Because you don't like gays, so you don't think they deserve to not be discriminated against?

And I am referring to the fact that the OP is made at the Duggars but clearly the voters sided with them too. I am not saying that she has to agree with it, but she is acting as though they are some weird family that shares some unique view that most do not.
The voters don't have the authority to deprive other people of their constitutional rights. It doesn't matter if 99.9% of them agreed to repeal anti-discrimination laws. They're still in the wrong.

So because your innate trait is completely visible and gays aren't, that means gays don't deserve to not be discriminated against?

And for the record, there are black people who you can't tell are black (Mariah Carey for example). And there are gay people who are completely obviously gay.

It's baffling to me that black people are some of the largest supporters of discrimination against gays. You'd think you guys would have learned that discrimination is not a good thing in most cases.

How are they discriminated against if no one knows who they are? How do we protect them if no one knows who they are?

I've always thought she was black. I remember as a 20 year old kid I thought she was beautiful and I was told by a black man she wasn't the proper shade for me.

Maybe they realize that the choice of who you are sexually active is not the same as your skin color.

Since a marriage, by definition, involves 2 people of the opposite gender, this wouldn't be an issue.

If that response doesn't signify the last of a dying breed, nothing does. Same-sex marriage is already in play. Equality trumps your religious dogma.

What's that? You think I'm cool and the most relevant person you've ever spoken with? You wish you could be more like me?

Or do words have meanings?
