ETA: I'm not trying to sit here and be inflammatory. This really is something I've wondered, and more than once.

To take it 1 additional step in the challenging of long held brainwashing...the only supernatural entity that doesn't actually lie in Genesis is, you guessed it...Satan in the form of the snake.
Luckily for us its all nonsense. But it is more of a reflection of the poorly formed moralities of the time, and evidence for the evolution of our moralities to now (which are still evolving).
