Reminds me of the Allegory of the Cave..google Plato for the youngsters here.
I have read that a couple of times, but never got what he was on about. Explain it to me.

No. Mysticism is a whole other ball of wax.

Unfortunately, American Born Agains are also dogmatic and have a childish faith in the literal truth of the bible.
My, aren't we feeling judgmental today?

Read John chapter 3- about Nicodemus. If you don't understand, then you're probably not "Born Again".

Forget the labels and IDs. If you have made that "transition" (according to Christ), it doesn't matter what you call it. It doesn't require a badge and a phrase that you wear and show to everyone. Live your life accordingly, and that will be the best advertisement of all.

A believer should be able to live his/her life without ever saying "born again", but others see the similarities to Jesus and a new life. If it's not there, no label or ID will help...

Ah, well, maybe you are just unable to escape your chains of physical perception in order to "encounter another 'realm', a place incomprehensible because, theoretically, it is the source of a higher reality than the one we have always known; it is the realm of pure Form, pure fact" From Wikipedia. Simply put, as I understand it, a chair (the particular) is just one expression of the idea "chair."

Super short version off the top:
Those asleep in delusion..don't want to be woken up even by one
of their own that cares enough to bother to awakened them.
Or
Comfortable is what you know and so want.....even if there is something else way better and more
real than what you have.
Or
caring enough about others is an extraordinaryly selfless thing.
Or
the need to share is somehow built into us.
Or
inertia takes over most...1 in a 1000 can break his paperchains.

"Plato's Allegory of the cave.

(I unexpecredly got on a roll! !)

Yes, I've always wondered why they don't call themselves "conceived again Christians" these days.

It's probably because to "conceive" of a plan is to think it up, and they don't want their eureka/epiphany/catharsis state/feeling to be simply mental.

In all reality it means conceived [from a father] from the top [again, to restart of from heaven although unlikely as "from above" was only occasionally used for "from heaven"].

But desperate and manipulatable people thirst for new total beginnings, not new mere conceptions.
