When I picture a witch doctor, I see a group of tribal indians and their chief of tribe as being a witch doctor. Mixing brews and burning stuff like sage and talking to the younger people of the tribe.

A bit like today's churches then... drinking blood, eating bodies and burning incense...but in traditional costumes.

Of course!

I even looked up to see if the SONG predates Wicca, but no. Wicca started in the 1940s and became public in 1954, and the song is 1958.

But the usage of the term "witch doctor" goes back a few centuries.

Well the term "witch doctor" is seen quite differently from "witch."

Of course it does. Brings to mind old movies where the "witch doctor" is in some jungle tribe. Has nothing to do with actual witchcraft or Wicca.
