I do not know the answer. I am interested in what other people think or what various religions believe. I know some Christian churches are adamant that the answer is "No"
It is hard to accept No as an answer, especially if you have had a number of dogs.
Cats on the other hand - I like cats, but I can see where people might conclude they have no soul.
Parrots?
What about an animal with no personality like a Gecko?
Insects?
Grass?
Nothing in Scripture supports the idea. I have to say no.
Amazing what a global flood will do to the landscape.
Including leaving zero evidence of it go having ever occurred (and I've read several books out that claiming there is evidence for it) and has left a landscape that would have been physically imposible to have been formed under flood conditions.
Another example you take the word of a book over the evidence that contradicts aNY thing within that book, even if the condradictions have been discovered by Christians. Physics, geology, geography, Biogeography, biology all disagree with your flood myth plus it was stolen from another, earlier religion.

That's not the only story stolen from earlier religions; there's the Adam and Eve story and the Job story too. I wonder how many others there are?

I just listened to Russian Orthodox priest, responding to exactly same question - do dogs and cats have souls?
Very interesting find.
Apparently, in orthodox bible, Genesis 1:24, it says "let the land produce a living soul"
Of course, remembering that there was this thread here, I went to English bibles - and, oh shocker. None of them says same. They all say "living creature/being".
How bizarre....
Just checked Torah.. same thing.
Also, apparently, in Paul's works, it is said that all animals will be "enlightened", so to speak, by humanity enlightenment and, that animals lost their heavenly tranquility and became predators the very moment man sinned.

Yes but that was before the Ten Commandments so it was Ok.
