No matter what you believe, I think that if one tries to be the kind of person you'd like to spend eternity with, there would be far fewer problems.
Correct me if I am wrong but Atheists don't believe in eternity. I personally believe in the philosophy of less stress and less anger = better life. Insulting another person's religious beliefs makes you look arrogant and pompous. We should all just smile and respect one another.

There was a thread in the A&A forum a few years ago where they discussed what might happen after death. Some of them think a ghost or a spirit is possible. I knew an outspoken atheist a couple of decades ago. He told his children that he would haunt them forever if they had any kind of religious service as part of his funeral.
Yes, we should all endeavor to respect one another. Religious views are opinions, worldviews, philosophies, theologies, etc. None of them can be objectively proven. Hopefully, there is a "live and let live" attitude, and an approach that leaves each person to hold whatever views they have without pressure to change.

Except your argument was that the prophecy is about David AND Jesus. Repeating your Christian claim is simply evading that an OT prophecy about David literally failed. Which would explain why the Christians used it, to rescue the prophecy.

Jesus sits on the throne of David. His Kingdom is an everlasting one, and it is not of this world.
The prophecy appeared to fail for a time, but with Christ we see that it did not fail.
