In the winter I wear the same thing except I usually wear a jacket over the shirt, again, not dressy; cotton (usually from LL Bean).

When I'm home or on the weekends it's jeans and t-shirts or sweatshirts and my OLD clogs, which are too worn out to wear to work now..LOL.

Pajamas are sweats..so comfortable!!

Haven't worn a bra in over 40 years.
Have no stockings.
No dresses.
No 'heels'.

I think that is great. You have greatly simplified your life and are happy. May I ask
K if you have always dressed this way or is this a choice you made as you got older?

No, I have always dressed similarly. Comfort was always number one with me. For a while I did 'dress up' for work but that lasted about three years (I've been with the same company for 25 years). Just could not stand all the fussing with stockings, slips, etc. I also have never worn makeup, except for a brief period of time in my early teens. That, again, was too much 'fussing' for me. I used to have long straight hair; now I have short straight hair (talking about two inches 'long'). I don't wear jewelry, either. One of my daughters talked me into getting my ears pierced when I was in my thirties, but I could not bother with wearing earrings!

Does anyone know exactly what "smart casual" means as a restaurant dress code?

It means that you can expect the bill to be high.

I would assume: no shorts, no "logo" t-shirts, no flip-flops, no ripped/torn clothes, no bare midriffs. Above beach or picnic casual, but certainly not dressy or tie required. Neat jeans or chinos/slacks, polo shirt or button up for men. Roughly the same for women, or casual skirt/dress.

We have to drive from here to Palm Springs for MIL 90th birthday. Now it's going to be at a restaurant at the JW Marriott Resort. We'll just split an order of bread. LOL

You would be very surprised to discover that is not the case. I've seen gorgeous "older" women turn heads considerably when they enter a room. Beauty and class is timeless. And some women are just plain sexy - also regardless of age. Tina Turner as an example.

I don't understand this point of view about not giving a damn and letting yourself go after a certain age. See it a lot in both sexes - especially men who get themselves out of shape and dress really poorly.
