What do you think? And, why just retirement homes? How about at home with seniors who live alone? Will we all one day have our own personal robot? I can think of a time when no one dreamed they would have their own personal computer.
Robots have been being used for all sorts of things in recent years. We've had robot girlfriends for the lonely Japan makes robot girlfriend for lonely men and robot pets too.
I wouldn't mind a robot pet because it should be fairly easy to maintain when you have health issues (no eating, no walking) and when you travel. It won't eat you if you die and they don't find you for awhile and if it does exercise with me I'm less likely to lie when I'm counting.
I take it all back, though, if the government decides to monitor me from my robot.
But seriously, the woman that held a conversation with the robot is rather sad although she probably didn't think so.
