This is just another "just for fun" thread. I am now wondering how many of you, like myself, are living in the past.

The newest invention we have is a Blu-Ray player, and Blu-Ray became popular staring in 2006. Excluding that, it was the DVD player, which became popular about five years before that. (We have about 600 DVDs compared to only about 50 blu-rays, btw.) We have no kind of "Smart" anything. So people visiting our home might think they had traveled back in time to 15 years ago (unless they went into our garage and found a 2018 vehicle parked there).

What about you?

Newest invention / US Patent is for Covid test device.
Full color 3D printer was invention task before that.
Yesterday I demo'd Virtual Reality gear and software an adult kid is on primary design team.

At home....
Smart phone. (For the occasional cell signal)

No TV, so I need for DVD s

Cars still have 8 track and cassette players.

Touring bicycles are 1970's (with electronic cadence and heart monitor we invented in 1976)
Coats, hats, scarves are stuff I made in 1960s
Appliances.. 1960s & 1950s, except waffle iron is 1918 (22 seconds for full sized rectangular waffle.

I have a machine shop full of vintage belt drive mills and lathes (1900-1930)
Much improved and modern compared to the former blacksmith shop.

Room for improvement... Modernization.
But... I don't do plastics! .
Good paying and interesting career in plastics, but I prefer to do without that material further complicating my life.

Misleading title.

I thought it was about the latest invention patent I owned!

But the latest "gadet" we bought was a 65" smart TV. It connects with our Wi-Fi so we can watch YouTube and Netflix without going through cable.

6 Inch chain saw.
You laugh! Those things are the hottest new item for yard maintenance. Battery powered, one hand operation and cut through limbs in a jiffy.

Does the length of chainsaw correlates to power required? I've been thinking about getting a battery powered chainsaw but I wanted a 16"

I have a 8 foot tall electronics rack in the home theater, full of ...well, I don't know what all of them are.

AppleTV

Three Crestron modules: Audio Expander, Entertainment System and one that isn't marked

A Marantz AV Surround Receiver

Samsung Blu-Ray player, the one thing I understand

Key Digital HDTV Matrix Switcher

Crestron Minitouch Controller

Panamax Home Theater Power Conditioner

And something called Triad. (Beats me.)

As far as I know, it all came from Planet Gobbledygook. I love computers, use them constantly, understand them pretty well, but home theater components? Save me.

Probably LED lighting, unless you count the OLED technology in my TV.

I've got five TVs that do that.

Mine is on an extendable pole. I also have a cordless electric hedge trimmer, and power pruning shears. The newest for me, though, is a Cuisinart Electric Smoker. I used it often this summer/fall.
