Agree about Sam Elliott and at least half of his appeal is his voice. He's very handsome.

May I also include Paul Newman in the equation? A class act, too. He aged gracefully without undergoing the knife....

Ok let's not make Sam Elliott blush any further here; he doesn't do porn. Plus there is no correlation between height and length if you know what I mean :-).

So can we differentiate between letting the old person in and letting the lazy person in? When I retired, I took a long, long sigh of happiness - lazy days, here I come. I still get up in the morning (very late morning!), get dressed right away, do my little errands and routines, meet friends for lunch, do two rounds of exercise on the various machines in the garage. But all day I’m mentally checking off all these things on the to do list, just waiting for that moment when everything that should be done is done, nothing more is needed or expected of me that day, and I can crawl into the recliner or bed with a book, a blanket and a diet soda. I turn my music on shuffle, turn down the lights and up the fake candles, and just bliss out with sheer, undiluted, cozy as all get out laziness. Nothing to do with old age, this time of day was always welcome at any age, there was just so much less lazy time available in younger years.

Lazy person, I’ll let you in anytime. Insert grin emoji.

I looooooove Sam Elliott. If I was going to old-lady crush & hang up a poster in my bedroom, he would be on it.

But as far as I know, he has had one wife for decades, & he isn’t baby-daddying, over-populating, sperm-donoring all over the place like so many of these geezers (including DeNiro, Pacino, Jagger, etc., etc.). And, to me, that’s part of his appeal.

Ha! He's been married to Katherine Ross forever. Remember her as the love interest to Dustin Hoffman in The Graduate?

And she let herself age naturally. She has nothing to prove. She won the lottery professionally and personally.

I don't watch political things so I never saw Clint talking to the chair. But, that's the thing. For whatever goes on in politics, many of us just have to face it and grit our teeth, we can't do anything about it. Or, if we can, on the big picture, it is a drop in the bucket: post on the Net, man the phones at the PAC, be an Angel (ie, pay for a play).

Mr. Eastwood, on the other hand, well, his reputation proceeds him, he talks, people listen. Just look at it here.

He has that advantage that many of us don't, has that base that his wise words, if only a legend in his own mind, can find foundations.

Just something to keep in mind.

Men talking like this for in a way, it is hilarious for women, it can be..............

Maiden, Mother, Crone.

Now whether it Men not seeing the world as such, a belief in always being not old, or them stealing being the Matriarch, I don't know. But to me, as I age, I have images to guide me of the elder Mistress of the Hacienda....or the power of Aunt Agatha in "The Shuttered Room" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzHAG6JqSDs decent coverage of the footage, not so sure about the fan made video, and if you have never seen the flick, probably spoilers).
