Hi everyone! I'm new to posting in the forums, but I've often lurked here when I've been apartment hunting to see if potential neighborhoods were safe. So now it's my turn to post something!
I'm moving from Pennsylvania to Rhode Island for work. I'll be working in Warwick, but don't take that into account when it comes to these addresses. I don't mind a longish commute.
Basically, I'm going up Monday to look at a bunch of places and I'm curious about the safety, noise, etc. I want someplace safe and pretty quiet. I don't mind not being in a "cool" neighborhood, and I don't mind having to drive everywhere. Being able to walk to restaurants, shops, etc. is not important to me. I am, after all, from rural Pennsylvania. I'm used to being isolated!
I don't know much about neighborhoods in the state so I appreciate anything you can give me!
Peeptoad Road, North Scituate
Goff Avenue, Pawtucket
Woonasquatucket Avenue, North Providence
Smithfield Road, North Providence
Eric Place, North Providence

Thanks in advance, guys!
You've got quite a "diversified" list there; and you don't say whether you are male or female.
Peeptoad Rd. No Scituate: NS is a lovely, beautiful RURAL area Goff Av. Pawtucket: NO way. Try to stay out of Pawtucket in general Woonasquatucket Av., No Prov: so so Smithfield Road, No. Prov: so so Eric Place, No. Prov. not familiar with it Veazie St., Prov ! Absolutely not.
There are very lovely, safe apartments on Douglas Av. operated by RW Realty; DePasquale Realty. On a busline and not a transient apt. complex. Lovely, well maintaied, and well managed. If you are a single professional, you may be able to rent in there. No pets whatsoever. Highly recommended, far and away better than anything on your above list, except maybe No. Scituate. Veazie St. Providence is "ghetto". You may also want to seek out certain safe areas on the East Side of Providence, as well as some nicer areas of Warwick and Cranston.
If it were me, I'd look at the Edgewood or Pawtuxet (not to be confused with Pawtucket) sections of Cranston. Pawtuxet straddles Warwick and Cranston, has a very nice village and is minutes from downtown Providence or wherever you'd be working in Warwick. Alternately, I'd look at the Rumford or Riverside sections of East Providence - very nice and convenient to Providence/Warwick.
You could also look at the East Side of Providence (preferably around Hope Street between Brown U and Pawtucket), but would be very pricey (as would Edgewood somewhat, I guess).
Blahhh I'm having SUCH a difficult time finding a nice one-bed under $800 that will be SAFE! This is harder than finding a good place in Boston! Any more suggestions?
King Street, E. Greenwich
Peeptoad Road, N. Scituate
Woonasquatucket Avenue, N. Providence

Any feedback is really appreciated!
