I was very impressed with the city. Looks like there has been a ton of new construction in the past ten years (Providence Place, Westin Hotel, condos, etc.). We saw an outdoor concert at the waterfront park which was very nice. Tons of restaurants (went to the Union Station Brewery and had a fantastic meal at a ridiculously fair price). Drove around Brown, Federal Hill, and another street that is lined with cafes and restaurants. Would it be fair to describe Providence as a small Boston?
Only thing I wasn't crazy about was the zoo, which is undergoing a massive renovation.
And this is a city that was described to me as a complete dump 20 years ago. Way to go, Providence!
