Generally speaking, I wouldn't say it's a good area. You could do much worse in Pawtucket though.

This.

It used to be better, but the crud is gradually spreading east into Darlington. I wouldn't live anywhere west of Newport Ave. these days.

Pawtucket participates in online crime mapping. You can review the crime map to get a better idea of the issues in different neighborhoods. See here: https://communitycrimemap.com/

Generally speaking, the areas east of Newport Ave., west of Smithfield Ave, and the between Pawtucket Ave. and Pleasant St. (Oak Hill) are the safest neighborhoods. There are some other dispersed neighborhoods in between which are also fairly well regarded (such as Darlington and Quality Hill). Most of the issues in Pawtucket involve property crimes of opportunity (such as items stolen from unlocked cars and sheds). There is a transient population around the downtown area which causes some quality of life/nuisance issues. Most of the violent crime is drug and gang related and will generally not be an issue for you if you are not involved in those activities.

This detail is very accurate specific to the neighborhood geography & types of crime in Pawtucket.

I seriously question the accuracy. No crimes were reported in the past month anywhere in the vicinity of Prospect Heights and Beverage Hill? I find that very hard to believe. Even setting the date back to January 1st, there's only a handful of crimes shown for the past 9 months. No way.

This crime mapping tool would (mis)lead people to think that's a safe area.

Some people only want to solidify what they already believe and want to believe, even in view of facts placed in front of them.

I'm certain Miss Blackstone Blvd wouldn't even drive through the area I mentioned.

That crime mapping tool is incomplete.

Very very true, and sad.

For a newcomer here Redplum, you're apparently "certain" of a lot of things, and given your past posts, you're obviously obsessed with crime.

A total of 13 crimes reported over the past 9 months at Galego Court. Yeah, sure.

LexisNexis, whose brand is on that crime map, is a highly regarded data company.

And if you go to this crimewatch page of the Pawtucket Police Department, that particular mapper is linked on their page as *the* way to map crime in Pawtucket.

I haven't explored it too deeply but it seems credible to me.
