I've lived in West Valley and Taylorsville most of my life and went to school in South Salt Lake.I don't think the numbers that high but it's very high in some areas of the valley and gang members come from all races. Most of the ones I ran into were hispanic but that was just the side of town I lived on.

I moved from West Valley. All I can report is the anecdotal evidence I saw. There was a constant tagging war between the "Surs" and "Nortes" -- so I'd say I saw Mexican more than anything else.

Haha, that's funny. Well, if the gangs in the Salt Lake valley are as sophisticated as you say they are and blend in as well as you say they do, then I'm not upset by this "problem" at all. I have yet to experience a problem or situation caused directly by a gang. I don't care if that makes me a "denier," if gangs are there but they're not doing anything, then that's really no different than them not being there at all. In my opinion statistics (which these numbers obviously are not, as they're pretty much pulled out of nowhere or are more like pseudo-estimates) are irrelevant if they don't accurately describe the problems that many common people are experiencing. Sure, maybe there are a lot of polynesian gangs in west valley (which really wouldn't surprise me at all, even if they are religious) and some hispanic gangs in south salt lake. Just because there are some mild problems in some places (with or without accurate numbers) doesn't mean the SL valley is any less safe than you would've guessed. I bet most of the "gang-related" crimes in SLV would happen regardless of whether they were "gang-related" or not, they're not gang-dependent.

'60% of guns seized in Mexico came from the US". Nope. 60% of the TRACABLE guns
seized in Mexico that were actually traced, were linked to the US. The only guns
that are traceable are those bought in the US. The millions that come from China
and S. America aren't traceable. And the Mexican authorities rarely trace weapons.
You have to listen closely, and do your own research on everything you hear, or
you will be clueless. The media is controlled, and everything politicians say to the public
is for a specific audience and purpose.
There are very specific reasons why we have opened our borders and allowed non-citizens
to come here and collect benefits, form dangerous gangs, and flood the country with drugs.
