I am a marketing professional in the NYC area too, and a veteran. Yet, they denied me many of the marketing positions when I applied to USAA. Quite a shame imo. I hope you got the job, especially if you were in the service! (if not, I still hope you got it lol)

Malicious mischief is a form of domestic violence where damage to mutual property happens but no one was physically harmed/assaulted. Basically, my ex and I were verbally arguing as I was trying to move out and she was trying to stop me, and I got frustrated and tossed a plaque, not at her, but it bounced off the couch and knocked into our apartment wall, putting a quarter size hole in it. Although she didn't want to press charges, the state did on her behalf.

I hear that Texas background checks typically don't look back past 7 years, although this can be optional I guess. On some of my applications in Texas, I've been asked up to 7 years, but not more. But I haven't applied to USAA or a bank. My 7 year mark is almost up, but I will be applying for internship before then.

My questions are, how far back will USAA in San Antonio ask about criminal background. What is a detailed written explanation. Is it my written account? Or will they require me to track down police/court reports?

Thank you very much.
So I'm not that old (haha) so I don't have that much history but someone else told me that USAA dug up stuff for him from the 80s, so...IDK. Nothing came up for me.

I'd say no limit how far back. It is not a credit report.
I agree with the bolded...especially for criminal-related records, no limit.

I was not in the service but I've been a USAA member since I was a kid and my dad was in the service, so I guess that helped. Though lately they have been trying to hire outside of their standard ex-military/military affiliated bucket under this new CEO. Either way, I've had the job a few months now and I like it.

Default Were you asked about the record ?

Did the background check show the record?
Did they ask you to provide an explanation for the record? Or did the HR ask anything specific to the record?

I doubt you'll get an answer, since that poster hasn't posted anything in over 4 years.
