just got this email from them.

Quote:
I appreciate you taking the time to email us.
The list was actually emailed to me late last night/early
this morning. The person who sent it simply said:
"Here's a list of no restaurant openings in the SA area.
Thought you might like it." The emailer asked for
no credit so I gave none.
awesome! to whoever sent that in..it obviously came from here lol

WOW THAT'S A LOT

Yes, it is. More proof that Stone Oak and that area is turning into nothing more than another Ft Worth (ie, city of chains, chain-lovers and those who love much more of the same thing, over and over again). Most of what was mentioned in this are things that are already in the area. Yogurt shops are quickly becoming the new nail salons in every strip mall and shopping center. I'm bored with it all.

From the 'homegrown' news front, let's not forget that FEAST (in the former Oloroso space in Southtown) and BLISS, from former chef at Biga and creator of Silo, Mark Bliss, are opening in November (also in Southtown). Both from solid culinary backgrounds and both San Antonio-based.

Two Step Restaurant and Cantina @ Braun+1604
Chef Steve Warner, formerly of Wildfish Seafood Grille, San Antonio and Newport Beach, CA, Eddie V's, Austin and Morton's of Chicago, San Francisco brings a casual, family friendly restaurant to the Northwest San Antonio/Helotes area. Specializing in Texas cuisine, Two Step will serve oak smoked meats, Texas favorites such as chicken fried steak, macaroni and cheese and homemade pies. The "cantina" will concentrate on world-class margaritas, an ample beer and tequila selection and a creative menu of specialty drinks.

I dont know if you knew that or not

Yeah I never understood that either. I think we have what it takes to have another pappadeaux or pappasitos. People wait 2 hours just to eat there. Its crazy! Hopefully the second cheesecake factory will maybe open there eyes and realize that we could handle another pappas restaurant.
